PJSC "Yakovlev" (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of the Rostec State Corporation) is actively working on three prototypes of the latest Yak-130M combat trainer aircraft. The date of the first flight will be known after the completion of the manufacture of the first prototype and ground testing of the aircraft.
The company noted that the capacity of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant is sufficient to manufacture new Yak-130Ms. In terms of design, the new aircraft is identical to the Yak-130.
The prototypes of the containers of the "President-S" onboard defense system are being manufactured for installation on the Yak-130M aircraft and preliminary tests.
BKO "President-S130" is an adaptation in a container version of a serial defense complex - an optoelectronic system for protecting aircraft and helicopters "President-S".
The system is designed for individual protection of the Yak-130M aircraft from being hit by anti-aircraft missiles, aviation missile systems, including portable anti-aircraft artillery systems, by detecting the fact of threats and countering attacking weapons.
The Yak-130M is capable of carrying a combat load of up to 2,500 kg and is designed for a maximum take-off weight of 10,290 kg.
The updated aircraft is equipped with two AI-222-25 turbofan engines, each of which develops a maximum thrust of 2500 kgf and improves the aircraft's flight characteristics. In addition, engineers installed four more containers to carry up to 16 bombs weighing 100 kg.
