The company "Russian Railways" (RZD) is testing boarding a train using biometrics. The testing of the new service is taking place in a closed mode. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the company, Evgeny Charkin.
The verification is being carried out to ensure the safety of passengers' personal data.
All risks must be removed, and both removed and agreed upon with regulators from the point of view of functional safety.
Boarding a train using biometrics will become available to passengers from September 1 this year. The new service will reduce the time for verifying data for citizens who board the train at intermediate stopping points. You will still have to take your passport on the trip.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian Railways launched a new service "Application to the waiting list".
