The effective firing range of the armament of the modernized Russian BMP-2 reaches 8 km, which is twice as much as that of the American combat vehicle Bradley. This was stated in Rostec.
The state corporation recalled that the BMP-2M has combat power like the BMPT "Terminator", thanks to the "Berezhok" module, "Cornet" missiles, a 30-mm cannon and an automatic grenade launcher. The modernized vehicle is also equipped with a combined sight, a modern digital fire control system and an automatic tracking device.
The BMP-2M can hit a tank, firing point, or accumulation of manpower of the enemy at a range of up to 8 km. Such a "long arm" can only be dreamed of by the American Bradley, whose "limbs" are twice as short, with all its positive qualities.
The BMP-2M is a modification of the BMP-2, which has been mass-produced since 1980, with the "Berezhok" combat module, which increases the combat capabilities of the vehicle by approximately four times. In
place of the main sight of the gunner BPK-2-42, the module received a combined sight with an independent system for stabilizing the line of sight in two planes. It combines thermal imaging, sighting optical and laser rangefinder channels, as well as a guided missile guidance channel.
