Defense Ministry Releases Video of Anti-Aircraft System in Action

A Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system crew intercepted another drone on the line of combat engagement. The Ministry of Defense released footage of the launch of a two-stage, 4.3-Mach guided anti-aircraft missile (SAM) 57E6.

The video shows an indicator displaying information about the radar situation with target tracks, accompanied by an S-band RLM SOC detection radar with a two-sided rotating passive phased array antenna (PESA).

Also shown is the acquisition for precise auto-tracking by the 1RS2 Shlem guidance radar with a sector view of about 90 degrees highlighted on the indicator.

Main characteristics of the Pantsir-S1 SAMG system, using the example of engaging an aircraft with an effective scattering area of 2 m² and a flight speed of 300 m/s:

  • Missile armament range - 1200-20000 m, altitude - 15-15000 m
  • Gun armament range - 200-4000 m, altitude - 0-3000 m
  • Number of simultaneously engaged targets - 4
  • Maximum speed of engaged targets - 1000 m/s
