According to the analytical agency "Autostat", only 652 new electric vehicles were sold in Russia in January 2025, which is 56% less than in January 2024. The share of electric vehicles in the Russian car market at the beginning of the year was 0.6%.
This figure is approximately three times less than it was in January 2024 (1.9%).
In January, the leader among brands in sales of new electric vehicles in Russia remains the Chinese Zeekr, which sold 283 units. It is followed by domestic brands "Moskvich" and Evolute with indicators of 60 and 40 units sold, respectively. The top five also included Chinese brands ORA (37 units) and BYD (36 units).
Since the beginning of the year, the utilization fee for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles with a sequential scheme has significantly increased in Russia. According to experts, this leads to an increase in the cost of "environmentally friendly" cars, primarily for the most affordable models.
