The High-Precision Systems holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation) has increased the production of Krasnopol-M2 guided artillery munitions in 2024.
The company noted that the projectile has proven itself positively on the battlefield, destroying, among other things, moving targets.
In 2023, the holding announced plans to increase projectile production by 25 times compared to the initial production capacity.
The Krasnopol-2 artillery complex includes a laser designator rangefinder, which is used to guide the product to the target. The 152 mm caliber projectile can be used by all types of artillery systems, including modern self-propelled howitzers.
Characteristics of the Krasnopol-M2 projectile:
- Projectile length — 1300 mm
- Projectile weight — 54 kg
- Warhead type — high-explosive fragmentation
- Weight of explosive substance — at least 8 kg
- Target engagement method — from above, along a glide-dive trajectory
- Operating temperature range — from -40 to +60
