NATO missile massive attack reflection: the advantages of the newest S-350 Vityaz SAM system revealed

Technical capabilities of the control vehicle and radars allow simultaneous firing at 24 targets

The S-350 Vityaz anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) in conjunction with other short- and long-range systems creates an insurmountable air defense system (air defense). Vityaz is capable of repelling even a massive attack by NATO missiles, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

The department noted that increased fire performance is one of the main features of the complex. The technical capabilities of radars and the control vehicle allow simultaneous firing at 24 targets, aiming two missiles at each.

The S-350 SAM system is capable of operating in passive and active radar modes, which increases noise immunity and increases the ability to detect and classify targets. Vityaz uses guided missiles with active homing heads and a missile super-maneuverability mode in the target engagement area.

This architecture of the anti-aircraft guided missile increases the reliability of target acquisition and tracking, and also facilitates its destruction. Improved chassis characteristics provide high mobility and maneuverability. This reduces the time spent in position and reduces the risk of enemy strikes.

Also, the S-350 is equipped with its own power supply and does not need external sources. The complex's assets can be placed at a great distance from each other, which reduces the risk of being hit by enemy missiles.
