The first "green" power plant in Russia, owned by the "RT-Invest" holding (part of Rostec), processed over 19,000 tons of municipal waste in its first month. Energy supplies for this period amounted to almost 2 million kilowatt-hours.
The "RT-Invest" power plant, located in Voskresensk, Moscow Region, uses advanced energy recovery technologies. The Russian enterprise was built in December 2024 by "AGK-1".
It can process up to 700,000 tons of non-recyclable waste per year. The electricity production will be 520 million kilowatt-hours. This is enough to provide electricity to a city with a population of about 80,000 people.
Currently, "RT-Invest", with the support of Rostec, is building four more "green" power plants. Three of them are planned to be opened in the Moscow region, and one in Tatarstan.
All five power plants will be able to process more than 3.3 million tons of waste per year, which is equivalent to 60 million garbage bags that will not end up in landfills. This will reduce CO2 emissions by 3.8 million tons and improve the quality of life for more than 18 million people.
Modern grate combustion technology is used for waste disposal. The "RT-Invest" "green" power plant projects have successfully passed 11 Russian and 2 international expert reviews, confirming their environmental safety.
