Очистит воду от урана: новый сорбент разработали в Приморском крае

The development can be used for the extraction and concentration of uranium from its ore

A sorbent for cleaning wastewater from uranium has been created at the Far Eastern Federal University. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

The research results will solve the problem of cleaning wastewater from nuclear fuel cycle enterprises from uranium radionuclides, a toxic and dangerous chemical element. In addition, the developed sorbent can be used for the extraction and concentration of uranium from its ore instead of the ion-exchange resins currently used in industry.
