The Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) has developed software for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It allows you to fine-tune any drone in accordance with the tasks. This was reported in the press service of the university.
Each time it is launched, the drone configures the magnetic compass and the system for determining its position in space. These operations on factory-made UAVs are performed automatically — the operator cannot influence the process.
In this case, all settings are as averaged as possible, since the developer cannot know in advance under what conditions his device will be used. Our software for commissioning allows you to fully control the firmware on the drone, change all flight data, starting conditions and perform self-monitoring for critical errors.
The device is configured from a laptop equipped with an antenna for two-way communication between it and the drone's on-board computer. The new software expands the capabilities of standard UAVs for advanced users.
Experts plan to refine the program to a consumer configuration and create an intuitive interface. In the future, the software will be installed on production drones.
Earlier www1.ru reported that in Saratov they created software to improve the safety of unmanned aircraft.
