The crews of Tu-142MZ anti-submarine aircraft conducted exercises in the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean. During the exercises, the following were practiced: searching for submarines of a mock enemy, their classification, tracking targets, and using weapons against them. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The pilots practiced piloting in conditions of limited visibility, and also conducted reconnaissance of strait zones and shipping routes in the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean.
In total, the Tu-142MZ were in the air for over 7 hours, with a flight range of more than 4000 km.
In the arsenal of the Tu-142MZ aircraft:
- radiohydrobuoys of the "Berkut" system
- explosive expendable sound sources: single MGAB-OZ, ribbon MGAB-LZ and spiral MGAB-SZ
- AT-1 type torpedoes
- APR-1 and Kh-35 type anti-submarine aircraft missiles
- PLAB-50 "Lastochka" type anti-submarine bombs
- RM-1 type naval mines
- AM-23 and GSh-23L cannons
- system for firing false thermal targets
