Reliable Barrier: Special Units Created in Russia to Protect Rear Facilities from UAVs

Military expert suggested equipping such units with MANPADS, machine guns, and assault rifles

Special units to protect rear infrastructure from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks have begun to be created in Russia. They will be responsible for the air defense of warehouses, storage bases, and arsenals.

Currently, air defense officers are determining the number of observation posts and firing points, and representatives of material and technical support are working on the logistical support of the new units.

Mostly, objects are attacked by Lyuty and Bober-type drones. These are low-flying aircraft that can be destroyed by any air defense equipment of infantry units, including man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), machine guns, or assault rifles. They should also be equipped with electronic warfare, combat, and reconnaissance systems.
