Терминалы спутниковой связи «Гонец» помогают сотрудникам МЧС не потеряться в Арктике

The terminals support communication with the large-scale EMERCOM expedition "Safe Arctic — 2025"

Gonets satellite terminals provide communication during the second stage of the EMERCOM expedition "Safe Arctic — 2025". This was reported to TASS by the terminal developer, Gonets Satellite System (part of Roscosmos). During this stage of the expedition, all-terrain vehicles will travel a route of more than 2,400 kilometers through Chukotka.

Seven Gonets terminals in the "Mobile" version and two "Gonets-Autonomous" kits were provided for the expedition. The equipment successfully transmits data about the location of all-terrain vehicles from the route to the coordinating headquarters of the EMERCOM and helps expedition members communicate with each other.

Gonets-Autonomous is a universal development for scientists, rescuers, and ordinary tourists. The terminal provides communication in remote locations and can transmit personal messages, small files, and the location coordinates of its owner. To use the service, simply connect to it via Wi-Fi from a smartphone using a mobile application or through a web interface. The web interface is included in the Gonets-Autonomous terminal package and fits in a small backpack.

The terminal was presented, tested, and put into production in 2024. "Safe Arctic — 2025" is the first major opportunity for the EMERCOM to use it "in the field."

"Safe Arctic — 2025"

The Arctic expedition of the Russian EMERCOM, the purpose of which is to conduct comparative tests of domestic all-terrain vehicles, equipment, and gear, and to practice introductory and conditional incidents in conditions of polar night, snow, and ice.

The expedition also has an honorary mission: to carry a piece of the Eternal Flame through nine Arctic regions of Russia. The flame was taken from the foot of the memorial "Defenders of the Soviet Arctic during the Great Patriotic War" in Murmansk.

The expedition involves 300 employees of the Russian EMERCOM, regional and municipal rescue services, and more than 120 units of special equipment. It started on December 25 from Murmansk and will last more than 35 days. The expedition will conclude at the end of January with a large interdepartmental experimental research exercise "Safe Arctic — 2025".
