The Moscow region plans to build a 36 km toll road duplicating Yegoryevskoye Highway, which will connect the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) and the Central Ring Road (TsKAD) in the eastern direction.
The working title of the duplicate is METK, which stands for Moscow — Yegoryevsk — Tuma — Kasimov. The highway will have four lanes, nine interchanges and 32 bridges, starting in the Tomilino settlement near Moscow. The "toll road" will pass through the Lyubertsy district, Kotelniki and Ramenskoye, and then connect to the TsKAD near the village of Gzhel.
The project documentation expertise has been completed, and Gazprombank is ready to cover the main costs of building the new highway. Traffic on it is expected to begin in 2027-2028, if all goes according to plan.
Currently, Yegoryevskoye Highway consists of two lanes. It is one of the busiest highways in the region. It connects Lyubertsy and Kasimov, located near Ryazan. Due to the dense development in the surrounding area, the reconstruction of the existing highway is considered impractical.
