The car became tougher and better

Specialists of the repair and restoration units of the Russian army are creating buggies for assault units. They took the GAZ-66 truck as a basis.

Specialists use parts from written-off cars, the future frame is assembled from a steel profile pipe and an engine is installed on it, transmission and suspension.

The buggy gets the steering wheel, seats, pedals and instrument panel from the donor car. To protect military personnel from shrapnel and bullets, metal sheets are welded onto the buggy.

We refine and improve the car according to the requests of the assault units, we make the car tougher and better. We are moving away from the standard cabin. That is, the base is the same, but the payload and the placement of personnel have been improved.
