Sales of new passenger cars in Russia increased by 47% in 2024 compared to the previous year, amounting to 1.554 million units. This is evidenced by data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
The total sales volume of new vehicles reached 1.836 million units, which is 39% higher than the level of 2023.
Main segments of the Russian automotive market:
- легковые автомобили: 1,554 млн (+47%);
- грузовики: 121,6 тыс. (-13%);
- легкие коммерческие автомобили (LCV): 140,3 тыс. (+34%);
- автобусы: 20,6 тыс. (+16%).
Sales of new domestically produced cars amounted to 830 thousand units (+28%).
Sales of electric vehicles increased by 31%, reaching 19.4 thousand units, of which 22% were produced in Russia.
