Российские беспилотники «Геоскан» с квантовыми магнитометрами научились отыскивать месторождения золота

Drones with special equipment have already successfully conducted an aeromagnetic survey of Ambitle Island, which belongs to Papua New Guinea

The Geoscan Group, the creator of a number of Russian drones, has developed a quantum magnetometer that allows aeromagnetic surveys of the area. This survey helps to detect, in particular, gold deposits. The development was tested during the filming of Ambitle Island in the Feni archipelago, which belongs to Papua New Guinea. The work was carried out in the interests of an international gold mining company, which is not disclosed.

The work was complicated by weather conditions typical of the region - high humidity, tropical downpours and unpredictable winds. Of the 39 days we were there, there were only 18 when the weather allowed flights. Despite this, we completed the project and filmed the entire island of Ambitle - a total of about 90 square kilometers of magnetic survey, with a total number of profiles of various scales of about 1740 km.

The BAS "Geoscan 201" and "Geoscan 401 Geophysics" with a quantum magnetometer helped specialists prepare orthophotomaps, elevation maps and anomalous magnetic field maps, which contain data on the geology of the site and the accumulation of magnetic masses associated with gold deposits.

According to the results of the research, experts suggest the presence of a high concentration of precious metal on the island. The maps will help the international company to develop the most optimal routes to the deposits, and to prepare work plans for their development.
