Cybersecurity experts from F.A.C.C.T. warn Russians against falling into a new trap set by fraudsters. They offer to purchase fake driver's licenses of various categories or a "white ticket" through Telegram and social networks in order to avoid military service. Forging documents and buying fake documents in Russia are criminal offenses, but this does not stop those who want to obtain them. This is what fraudsters take advantage of.
As a rule, the attackers act on behalf of an anonymous employee of the MREO, and ask for 20 to 50 thousand rubles for rights of various categories. They demand up to 120 thousand rubles to forge documents for the military registration and enlistment office. The victim is asked for passport data, a scan and photographs of individual pages of the passport, TIN, medical certificate, and a photograph of the signature on a white sheet.
Later, an accomplice-artist creates a picture of a non-existent document and a video recording where the non-existent driver's license is ready and even entered into the traffic police database. According to the same scheme, images of fake military IDs of the victim are created with an indication of the diagnosis, for example, "chronic pyelonephritis", and screenshots with the alleged entry of the document into the database of the unified register of military registration.
When the victim decides to pick up the finished document, the fraudsters disappear, receiving not only her money, but also personal data that can be used in other illegal schemes.
Despite the active advertising of fraudsters with offers for the fake sale of military IDs, the demand for this service is minimal. During the month of activity of the studied fraudulent group, 2 victims were deceived according to this scheme, and 50 times more according to the scheme with the false sale of driver's licenses.
Any offer to purchase documents hides many dangers. The most obvious is the threat of criminal liability for the acquisition of forged documents. The second is the loss of money. The third danger is directly related to it: the victim who was deceived once remains on the hook of criminals, because they receive important personal data of the person: his full name, phone number, passport scans and other documents that can be used for other fraudulent schemes.
Russians are reminded that offers to buy a passport, driver's license, military ID or any other official document can only come from fraudsters. And forgery of documents, as well as their acquisition, are prosecuted by law. Also, you should not give your personal data to anyone, especially when it comes to some illegal actions: this is how you end up on the hook of fraudsters.
