The "Ural" plant, which produces trucks, will receive support from VEB.RF to launch a new modern import-substituting foundry production with a full technological cycle. Its main products will be medium and small cast iron castings for key systems of the "Ural" vehicle, and parts for other machine-building enterprises in Russia will also be produced there. The production capacity will be 45 thousand tons of cast iron per year.
Financing is carried out with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The total cost of the project is 9.5 billion rubles, VEB.RF's financial credit participation in this project is 2.6 billion rubles.
High-tech foundry production for this type of truck is a unique project that embodies advanced domestic developments. The implementation of products will open new horizons for the creation of high-quality components necessary for the truck automotive industry. The emergence of such production is an important step towards strengthening the national economy, ensuring technological independence and developing a strategically important industry. The uniqueness of the products makes it possible to take a leading position in the market and make a significant contribution to the modernization of domestic mechanical engineering.
But first of all, as noted in VEB.RF, the project is aimed at supporting the production of "Ural" vehicles. The existing capacities of the plant do not ensure the production of cars in the quantity specified in its product strategy.
Earlier, the Industrial Development Fund (coordinated by VEB.RF) had already provided concessional loans to this car plant for a total amount of 7.2 billion rubles. The funds were then used to produce auto components for Ural trucks, including the production of drive axles and front axles. Also, these funds made it possible to replace foreign IT solutions at the enterprise and increase the number of high-tech jobs by 20%.
