The operator "Beeline" has introduced a new function in its anti-fraud system to improve user security. Now it can block outgoing calls to fraudulent numbers.
Fraudsters use a clever trick: they send SMS messages asking to call back, claiming that this is necessary to "unlock an account on Gosuslugi" or "extend a contract for a phone number." The new "Beeline" function will help prevent such cases.
To date, the system successfully prevents customers from contacting fraudsters by blocking such calls. We block about 9,000 of these calls per month.
As a reminder, an anti-fraud system is a set of technologies and methods aimed at combating fraud and protecting against deception. These systems analyze user behavior, identify suspicious activities, and block them to prevent financial losses and leakage of personal information.
