Highly Maneuverable Ka-52 Helicopter Engages Enemy Armored Vehicles at Maximum Range

Military Expert Damantsev: Onboard AESA Radar "Rezet" Detects Targets at a Distance of up to 25-30 km

A pilot of a Ka-52M reconnaissance and attack helicopter of the Russian Aerospace Forces engaged enemy armored vehicles at practically the maximum range (approximately 10100 - 10300 m). He used a 1.85-Mach anti-tank missile "Vikhr-1". This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

He emphasized that the average speed of the Vikhr-1 ATGM reaches 510 m/s, and the maximum speed is 610 m/s.

The onboard multi-mode X-band AESA radar "Rezet" is capable of detecting targets of the "tank/BMP" type at a distance of up to 25 - 30 km.
Evgeny Damantsev, military expert

Damantsev emphasized that this feature of the AESA radar is especially important when it comes to using the Stormer HVM or Avenger SAM systems by the enemy. These systems pose a threat to the Ka-52.
