A VR game called \"Bula in the Desert\" will be created based on the Russian TV series \"Cybervillage\". In it, players will become a robot named Nikolai and help the flying \"loaf\" Bula cope with damage, survive a storm on Mars, and return home. Here are the details:
A demo version of the game will be available to try at the \"HammyCon\" festival, which will be held in Moscow from December 20 to 22.
The game uses volumetric video technology, which helps create highly detailed 3D models of characters. The movements of actor Sergei Chikhachev, who played Nikolai, were recorded using multiple cameras and then turned into a three-dimensional object. This greatly simplified and sped up the process of creating characters for VR games.
Lead developer Igor Khuraskin noted that this method is usually used in cinema, but the team adapted it for games. Now, creating a character is like filming a movie: the actor performs his scenes, which are then transferred to the game.
