ИКАР начал выпуск первых российских деталей для дренажных систем Airbus A321

Domestic parts will help maintain the operation of 77 Airbus aircraft in Russia

The IKAR Moscow Engineering Center has begun producing domestic parts for modifying the drainage system of the Airbus A321 passenger aircraft, marking an important step in ensuring the independence of the Russian aviation industry from Western supplies. The first batch of components was manufactured at the Rudnevo Industrial Park, and these parts are already ready for retrofitting more than 12 aircraft operated by Russian airlines.

The production of drainage systems is carried out by order of one of the largest airlines in the country, and IKAR is already working on creating new components for subsequent stages of modernization. This project has become particularly relevant against the backdrop of Western sanctions, which since 2022 have prohibited the supply of spare parts for the Airbus A321 to Russia.

As of the beginning of November 2024, 77 A321 aircraft are operated in Russia, belonging to companies such as Aeroflot (35 aircraft), Ural Airlines (22 aircraft), and S7 Airlines (11 aircraft). The production of domestic parts not only ensures the possibility of maintaining these aircraft in working order but also minimizes dependence on external supplies.

The IKAR Center was established in 2002 as a joint venture between Airbus and the Kaskol Group of Companies, becoming the first engineering center of the European manufacturer outside the EU. After Airbus left Russia in 2022, IKAR became part of AFC Sistema and is now successfully developing its own projects in the aviation industry.
