Electronics Training Launched at TSU

The course is dedicated to the creation of synchrotron radiation detectors

Tomsk State University (TSU) has launched a course to train specialists in electronics. It focuses on the creation of synchrotron radiation detectors. They are necessary for equipping the research stations of the "Skif" Shared Resource Center.

The course is called "Semiconductor Synchrotron Radiation Detectors: Design, Modeling, and Technology." It was created in collaboration with the Institute of High Current Electronics SB RAS.

The main audience of the course includes professionals in the field of electronics involved in the design and operation of equipment, as well as master's and postgraduate students studying physical, chemical, and technical specialties.

The course emphasizes the development of synchrotron radiation detectors, which play a key role in the configuration of research stations. Participants will study the main technological processes of detector production, modern trends in microelectronic production, and the selection of materials for these devices.

Attention will be paid to working with the TCAD Sentaurus program for modeling the characteristics of sensors and specialized tools for designing and modeling units of amplifying integrated circuits.

One of the course modules is dedicated to training in the operation of equipment at the design center of the IHCE SB RAS "Microelectronics of Quantum Radiography." Upon completion of the program, students will be able to independently design components of synchrotron radiation detection systems and conduct analysis to select detector systems depending on the tasks at hand.
