More than 40 warships and support vessels of the Baltic Fleet have begun practicing combat training tasks in their permanent bases in Kronstadt and Baltiysk, the fleet's press service reported. The program includes preparing the ship for sailing and practicing combat and daily organization in base conditions.
The ship's personnel of the Baltic Fleet were involved in the tasks - crews of small missile ships, small anti-submarine ships, corvettes, landing boats, minesweepers, anti-sabotage and patrol boats - a total of over 40 ships and support vessels.
Upon completion of the tasks in base conditions, the ships of the Baltic Fleet will go to the fleet's sea ranges to perform combat training tasks using ship weapons in various operational and tactical situations.
As part of combat training activities, exercises and training are conducted with ship crews to prepare the ship for a voyage, anti-sabotage defense of ships at bases, and to fight for survivability while moored at the pier.
