American FIM-92E Block I Surface-to-Air Guided Missiles Fail to Intercept Russian FABs

A pilot of a Su-34NVO frontline bomber of the Russian Aerospace Forces struck an enemy M1097 Avenger self-propelled anti-aircraft missile system with a planning high-explosive aerial bomb (FAB). The target was destroyed, writes the Telegram channel "Russian Weapon".

The Avenger was covering enemy warehouses from Russian Orlan-30 reconnaissance drones and Su-25SM3 attack aircraft.

The small-sized FIM-92E Block I/II SAMs with IIR seeker were unable to provide any counteraction to the heavy planning guided FAB-500M-62 with zero IR signature, and both the covered object and the Avenger SAM system itself were hit.
