Та самая «Варшавянка», которую боятся на Западе: в Петербурге спустили на воду субмарину «Якутск»

The diesel-electric submarine was built at the "Admiralty Shipyards"

The solemn ceremony of launching the large diesel-electric submarine "Yakutsk" (project 636 "Varshavyanka") took place at the shipbuilding enterprise "Admiralty Shipyards" (part of USC), the corporation's press service reported.

After launching, a number of outfitting works will be carried out on the submarine. Next, "Yakutsk" will undergo mooring, factory sea and state tests.

All tactical and technical characteristics embedded in the ship by the designer, all combat capabilities and combat potential have been confirmed.
Vladimir Korolev, Advisor to the Head of USC

"Yakutsk" is the sixth submarine of the 636 series, which was laid down in St. Petersburg in 2021. The submarine will join the Pacific Fleet. Five submarines of the project: "Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky", "Volkhov", "Magadan", "Ufa" and "Mozhaisk" are successfully carrying out combat service.

According to the USC press service, submarines of the "Varshavyanka" project have a higher combat effectiveness compared to submarines of other projects. They combine acoustic stealth and target detection range.

Submarines of project 636 received the latest inertial navigation system, a modern automated information and control system. At the same time, high-speed torpedo-missile armament provides these submarines with an advantage in their class.

The "Varshavyanka" submarines are feared in the West and are called "black holes".
