At St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI", in collaboration with scientists from Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, a digital twin has been developed to improve the efficiency of solar thermal power plants. This was reported by the university's press service.
Scientists have developed a "digital twin" to optimize the operation of solar thermal power plants. The approach proposed by the researchers made it possible to increase the efficiency of thermoelectric systems, which convert light and heat energy from the sun into electricity, by 12%.
The experiments used climate information from Southeastern Nigeria. Data was collected over the course of a year. To simulate weather conditions, a three-dimensional model of a photovoltaic-thermoelectric (PV-TE) installation was created.
In addition, scientists have determined that graphene is best suited for the thermal regulation of PV-TE systems.
Our research has shown that the correct configuration of a PV-TE system has a critical impact on the efficiency of electricity generation. This factor is directly related to the weather parameters where this equipment is used.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a capsule was laid in Kyrgyzstan for the construction of Rosatom's wind power plant.
