Elusive Russian "Gopher" of the Strela-10 Air Defense System: Shoots Down Aircraft, Helicopters, and Drones

The complex's maneuverability has become its advantage on the battlefield

Russian crews of the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) (NATO classification SA-13 Gopher) are successfully countering reconnaissance drones and enemy aircraft at the forefront. The system's maneuverability has become an undeniable advantage for the soldiers.

The gun commander with the call sign Gal noted that the enemy has already changed their attack tactics, mainly trying to adapt to the constant movements of the crews.

Over the past month, I have noticed a trend: there are fewer, but instead of one drone entering, there are two or three at once. Because one will work somewhere, you roll over, and another will enter the same area in an hour or an hour and a half.
Call sign Gal, commander of the Strela SAM crew

The military man noted that the system has proven itself against drones, helicopters, and low-flying aircraft. However, due to the effectiveness of the weapon, the SAM crews are constantly subjected to HIMARS attacks.

At the same time, the soldiers have learned to camouflage the Strela so that it completely blends in with the landscape. Such camouflage and constant movements make the SAM system an elusive weapon for the enemy.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Rosaviatsiya for the first time issued an airworthiness certificate for an aircraft-type UAV. The OG-003 drone is capable of moving cargo weighing up to 20 kg.
