A growth in tablet sales has been recorded in Russia. For the period from January to June 2024, tablet computers were sold in the country for 32% more in monetary terms and 29% more in unit terms compared to the same period in 2023, M.Video-Eldorado reported.
Russians bought 1.1 million tablets for 23 billion. At the same time, in the first half of the year, sales of Russian tablets increased by 17% (1.28 billion rubles). The increased demand was also influenced by the appearance on the market of gadgets from Honor, Samsung, Apple.
According to experts, Russians chose domestic tablets due to their affordable price. At the same time, the main competitors of Russian equipment manufacturers are Chinese companies that offer devices comparable in price, but with expanded functionality.
A large share of Russian tablets is purchased by the public sector and companies that must work on domestic equipment. Educational institutions are also buyers of domestic tablets.
