Engineers at JSC " ГосМКБ «Радуга» " have developed an advanced cruise missile, named "Product 720". It embodies the best ideas of Russian designers. Military expert Peter Butowski in an article for Bulgarian Military compared "Product 720" with the Israeli Delilah missile.
The latest developments of JSC " ГосМКБ «Радуга» " are related to air-to-surface guided missiles for long-range and front-line aviation, as well as for warships. Many missile systems have already proven their effectiveness in real combat operations.
The article also presents the opinion of military expert Peter Butowski. According to him, "Product 720", thanks to its square fuselage and folding wing, has similarities with the Kh-69. But the new development of JSC " ГосМКБ «Радуга» " is noticeably smaller: 3.4 m in length with a launch weight of up to 450 kg. He called the air intake located in the upper part of the body the key difference of "Product 720".
Butowski also suggested the capabilities of the new missile. It is likely that "Product 720" is a means of electronic intelligence, which is confirmed by the presence of small antennas on the fuselage.
Everything indicates that "Product 720" is similar to the Israeli Delilah missiles (a cruise missile designed to combat radar), which can be launched from the air, land and sea. These types of missiles use an inertial guidance system with satellite correction. In the final stage of the flight, the image from the homing head is transmitted to the operator, who can then accurately identify the target and make the necessary adjustments.
