The ice-class patrol ship "Ivan Papanin" of Project 23550, built for the Russian Navy, has completed the stage of factory sea trials in the Baltic Sea training grounds and returned to St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

During this stage of testing, the delivery team and the crew of the "Admiralty Shipyards" checked the functioning of onboard life support and communication systems, as well as the propulsion system. The ship's crew had previously completed comprehensive training at the Joint Training Center of the Navy.

The crew of "Ivan Papanin" was trained according to special programs that involve the operation of equipment and weapons of project ships in Arctic conditions.

It is assumed that the armament of the project ships for the Russian Navy will include a 76.2-millimeter artillery installation, and it is also possible to place eight anti-ship "Uranus" missiles and/or "Caliber-K" cruise missiles in containers.
