Пока Москва не уснёт: в столице предлагают ограничить скорость электросамокатов до 10 км/ч

Fast Riding Will Only Be Possible at Night

The Chairman of the Moscow City Duma, Alexey Shaposhnikov, proposed limiting the speed of personal mobility devices (PMD) when riding on sidewalks. The proposal was announced at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

It is proposed to limit the speed of PMDs from 8 am to 11 pm.

Due to frequent incidents involving PMDs and pedestrians on sidewalks, it is important to consider the need to limit the speed of PMDs on sidewalks during the daytime, when there are many pedestrians. The speed limit for PMDs when moving on the same platform as pedestrians could be 10 km/h, with an overall permitted PMD speed of 25 km/h.

According to Alexey Shaposhnikov, new adjustments will need to be made to the traffic regulations. In addition, he proposed conducting a survey on the need for relevant innovations among residents of the capital on the website «СИМ.МОСКВА».

It was also noted that the Moscow City Duma has raised the issue of establishing uniform rules for the movement of PMDs in popular public places. The authorities plan to introduce administrative liability for violations of traffic rules by e-scooter drivers.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the «E-Scooter» raid took place in Moscow.
