КМЗ проведет капитальный ремонт большой партии двигателей для военной техники

Contract for future restoration work already concluded with the customer

The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) will put into operation a large batch of UTD-20 (UTD-20S1) diesel engines. The contract for the overhaul of the equipment was concluded with an enterprise engaged in the modernization of armored vehicles. This was reported by the plant's press service.

UTD-20 (UTD-20S1) engines were originally developed by AO "Barnaultransmash". The overhaul of the "hearts" of infantry fighting vehicles is carried out in full compliance with the manufacturer's technical documentation.

The verification of the operational characteristics of the equipment is carried out on special KMZ test benches. All spare parts and consumables meet state standards.

The UTD-20 engine is reliable, has a long service life, and is resistant to overheating. The UTD-20S1 modification allows the engine to be operated at temperatures down to −20 °C.
Natalia Shpachenko, Head of Sales Department at KMZ

The UTD-20S1 modification received a flameless torch intake air heating system (BFP). It allows the engine to be started without pre-heating the power plant. In addition, the UTD-20S1 engine model differs from the UTD-20 by the presence of a combined fuel drain system from the injectors.
