Mobile shelters of modular type may appear in Russia to protect citizens from all types of weapons, including nuclear ones. This is stated in the draft government decree, which was published on the portal of normative legal acts.
The creation of civil defense facilities is carried out by... the construction of facilities using prefabricated structures and constructions, including block-modular type.
The explanatory note states that Russia does not have enough existing protective structures. Therefore, the construction of new types of shelters can solve this problem.
About the Mobile Shelter of Modular Type "Kub-M"
Scientists of the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations (VNII GOChS) have previously developed a mobile shelter of modular type "Kub-M". The package includes a module for 54 people and a technical unit. It can be transported by road or rail.
"Kub-M" Protects for 48 Hours From:
- air blast wave
- light emission of a nuclear explosion
- penetrating radiation
- radioactive contamination of the area
- high-explosive and fragmentation weapons
The production and installation of "Kub-M" is half the cost of building a stationary protective structure. A modular shelter can be erected in 3 months.
