Ministry of Transport proposes to punish carriers for errors in tickets

Russian airlines may face suspension of operations in case of errors in the registration of passenger data. This was reported by the Kommersant newspaper.

Passengers have recently begun to complain more often about the loss of money and time due to such errors. The central office of Rostransnadzor receives about 700 such complaints against airlines from citizens annually. In response, carriers note that when booking tickets online, the passenger is fully responsible for the correctness of the registration.

The Ministry of Transport intends to introduce fines or suspension of activities against airlines that make typos in passenger tickets.

For the first such violation, the airline faces a fine of up to 30 thousand rubles for officials and up to 100 thousand for legal entities. For a repeated violation, a fine of up to 400 thousand rubles or suspension of the organization's activities for up to 90 days is threatened.
