Rosstandart and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Radio Electronics and electronics manufacturers, have begun updating the standards of the electronics industry. This was reported to Vedomosti by Alexander Zazhigalkin, Rector of the Academy of Standardization, Metrology and Certification of Rosstandart.
All standards for domestic electronics will be revised in the format of current criteria of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which includes more than a hundred countries. The initiative is planned to be implemented by the end of 2024.
IEC standards contain requirements for the safety, reliability, and quality of electronic products, and also define methods for certification and testing, which ensures success when introducing products to the market.
Despite the fact that IEC standards are not mandatory, Russian GOSTs have not changed since the 1980s. The adoption of a new concept for the unification of domestic electronics standards will expand the country's export opportunities.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Ministry of Industry and Trade raised the issue of subsidizing domestic electronics manufacturers.
