The prototype of the Russian Superjet-100, developed by PJSC "Yakovlev", has completed the factory testing program and arrived at the airfield of the M. M. Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky. This aircraft, assembled at the Yakovlev Production Center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, traveled more than 6 thousand km, making a flight with an intermediate landing at Tolmachevo Airport in Novosibirsk.
Andrey Boginsky, General Director of Yakovlev, noted that the completion of factory tests is an important step in the program before the start of certification tests. In order to speed up the certification process, flights are carried out on the first prototype with SaM146 engines of Franco-Russian production. The remaining key systems of the aircraft, including avionics, chassis and others, are already 100% Russian. After passing the planned tests of the PD-8 engine, two more experienced aircraft will join the process. In total, more than 200 test flights are planned to be completely confident in the safety of the aircraft.
Upon arrival at the airfield of the M. M. Gromov Flight Research Institute, the SJ-100 was transferred to the aviation technical complex of Yakovlev for preparation for flight certification tests.
Honored test pilot of the Russian Federation Leonid Chikunov, who piloted the plane, sharing his impressions of the flight joked: "The plane landed, the crew is alive." But, speaking seriously, noted the excellent performance of onboard systems during the flight and separately the high readiness of the aircraft as a whole, which demonstrates its potentially high characteristics during subsequent tests.
The flight went perfectly, there are no complaints about the operation of onboard systems. The flight was performed according to a standard profile, similar to the base aircraft – at an echelon of 11 km and a speed of over 800 km/h. We also landed at Tolmachevo Airport, which indicates a high degree of readiness of this machine. Now we must confirm its high characteristics during flight certification tests
