Pre-series assembly of LADA Iskra may begin after May 13. AvtoVAZ plans to produce 17 bodies per day.
Corporate holidays are introduced at the auto giant's enterprises from April 29 to May 13. During this time, it is planned to prepare the assembly site for the production of Iskra bodies. They will be assembled on the Granta painting line.
According to industry sources, difficulties may arise with the processing and painting of parts, since the body of the new AvtoVAZ model is very laborious for painting work.
Recall that Iskra should replace Granta. AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov stated that the car body should be something in between Granta and Vesta in terms of design.
The new model is being created on the basis of the import-substituted Renault-Nissan CMF-B-LS platform, which AvtoVAZ inherited from cooperation with Renault. It was planned that mass production of cars would begin in January 2025, and test batches would be assembled before that.
