РСЗО «Ураган» на новом шасси был замечен в зоне боевых действий

An improved Uragan multiple launch rocket system was spotted in the Belgorod region

The Uragan multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) was spotted operating in positions in the Belgorod region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The MLRS in the video is equipped with a new BAZ-69092 chassis.

The BAZ-69092 frame chassis features a three-axle chassis with independent suspension and a 6x6 wheel arrangement. Thanks to the use of a relatively powerful engine (450 horsepower) and a well-designed chassis, the vehicle has high cross-country capability. Maximum payload is 14 tons. The highway speed is 80 km/h, and the cruising range for the reference fuel consumption is 1000 km.

It is worth noting that the 9K57 Uragan MLRS was previously mounted on a four-axle ZIL-135 chassis. Despite its high cross-country capability, the vehicle had a drawback - high fuel consumption, so it was decided to replace it. The first mentions of the use of the Uragan MLRS on the BAZ-69092 chassis appeared back in 2020. But the improved version of the combat vehicle was spotted on the battlefield only 4 years later.

The Uragan MLRS itself, with a caliber of 220 mm, is designed to destroy armored vehicles, motorized infantry, and tank units of the enemy both on the march and in their concentration areas, as well as to destroy command and control posts, communications, ammunition depots, and other objects. The fire support system is capable of firing both in salvoes and in single shots. The aiming time is approximately 30 seconds, and the maximum range is up to 35 km. In continuous firing, the system is capable of launching up to 16 rockets with an interval of 0.5 seconds.
