Russian manufacturers of automated workstations (AWS) with foreign peripheral devices (monitor, computer mouse, keyboard) will not be able to get their products into the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak.
According to the representative of the ministry, the corresponding decision will be made in 2024. Thus, manufacturers will lose access to government orders.
A Russian AWS should be one that uses only domestic technical solutions
Currently, the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade includes AWSs that are supplied with Chinese peripheral devices. At the same time, Russia has its own manufacturers of peripherals.
Who produces peripheral devices in Russia
The initiative to ban AWSs with foreign peripheral devices belongs to the Russian company Beshtau Electronics. In the summer of 2023, its CEO Varktes Galustyan sent a letter to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, pointing out this problem.
According to him, due to the use of Chinese mice and keyboards, domestic peripheral products remain unclaimed. Currently, they are produced by the companies Beshtau Electronics, Fplus, Kraftway, Aquarius, Depo, ICL, IRU and Lightcom.
It was previously reported that Aquarius will begin production of powerful gaming computers.
