It is expected that a level 3A autonomous train will begin running in Moscow this summer. The launch of a fully autonomous train based on the import-substituted "Lastochka" (new Russian train ES104 "Finist") is scheduled for 2026.

According to Belozerov, the change in the launch date of such a train is due to the fact that specialists had to completely import-substitute "Finist". Equipment for automation was prepared in parallel.

Now engineers are installing and integrating it. Currently, the automated ES104 "Finist" is undergoing testing.

About the MCC

The MCC started operating in Moscow in 2016. During this time, passengers have made a billion trips. "Lastochkas" run along the 54 km long ring with an interval of 4 minutes during peak hours. There is infrastructure for passengers with children, pensioners, and people with limited mobility.

After the opening of the Kutuzovskaya station on the MCD-4, the integration of the MCC with the Moscow Central Diameters was completed. Passengers from all railway directions can transfer to the MCC.

Earlier, www1.ru wrote that the import-substituted "Lastochka" was launched on the Yekaterinburg - Kamensk-Uralsky route at the end of December 2023.
