The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, admitted the possibility of delaying the market launch of import-substituted versions of Russian passenger aircraft - MC-21, TU-214, Superjet. He said this at a meeting of the Council on Strategic Development and National Projects.
In the next two years, we will replace imported components and assemblies in the line of medium-range aircraft Tu-214, Superjet and MC-21
Western manufacturers of aviation parts refused to cooperate with Russia in 2022. The Russian authorities instructed domestic aircraft manufacturers to develop completely Russian components for replacement in civil aircraft.
According to the program for the development of the aviation industry, in 2023, developers were supposed to supply the first two localized SJ-100s. However, UAC announced that deliveries are being postponed to 2024 amid delays associated with obtaining a certificate for the domestic PD-8 engine.
Rostec promised that tests of the SJ-100 with the new engine will take place in December 2023.
