Russia has fully localized the production of "Troika" cards. The last of the procedures that had to be done with foreign participation have been replaced by domestic ones: microcircuit packaging and the production of new generation chips.
The new production line of Mikron Security Printing performs the full cycle of microcircuit packaging: from mounting the integrated circuit on the substrate to electrical control and sorting.
The chips themselves are also completely Russian. They have three times more memory and five times increased performance. They can be read up to half a million times, and the service life has increased to ten years.
It is known that the first thousand "Troika" cards with a new generation domestic chip are already being tested in the Moscow Metro, and in 2024 all "Troika" transport cards will be produced with new chips. At the same time, the functionality of the new cards will become more extensive due to the increase in chip memory.
The new chips will work not only on transport cards or Muscovite cards. They can be installed on bank cards, foreign passports, and any other documents that use embedded electronic media.
