In St. Petersburg, at the shipbuilding enterprise "Admiralty Shipyards" (part of USC), the ceremony of transferring the multipurpose diesel-electric submarine "Mozhaisk" of project 636.3 "Varshavyanka" took place. Sailors raised the flag of the Russian Navy on the submarine.
The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Viktor Evtukhov, attended the solemn event. According to him, the profession of submariners is in a risk group, therefore, high safety requirements are imposed on submarines.
This project implemented a number of innovative solutions, including the latest life support systems
The representative of the ministry emphasized that "Mozhaisk" is designed to fulfill two tasks: to save the lives of the crew and ensure the defense capability of Russia.
According to the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Nikolai Evmenov, the submarine is enlisted in the Primorsky Flotilla of heterogeneous forces of the Pacific Fleet. The Admiral emphasized that "Mozhaisk" is a combat unit equipped with formidable weapons. For the fact that the submarines of the "Varshavyanka" project are invisible to the enemy and carry inevitable retribution, they are called "black holes", he added.
"Mozhaisk" is the fifth of six submarines of the project developed by specialists from the Rubin Design Bureau. It is equipped with modern torpedo weapons, as well as the "Caliber" missile system, which has proven its effectiveness in real combat operations.
Earlier it was reported that a floating dock for nuclear submarines will appear in Russia.
