В диких условиях: ученые доказали выносливость новых вездеходов «Архант» в Арктике

Powerful "Arkhant" all-terrain vehicles have proven their characteristics in the Arctic conditions

Members of the scientific expedition "Clean Arctic - East-77" tested two "Arkhant" all-terrain vehicles (produced by "Sherp") while crossing an ice-covered river. This was the most difficult part of the route, the expedition's press service reported.

It is here that the vehicles are being tested, which will become the main means of transportation in the Arctic and Siberia. The main task for the "Arkhant" all-terrain vehicles was to pass a section on a solid and water surface with a slope of up to 35° at any air temperature.

According to the head of the testing group, Tatyana Zikunova, the "Arkhant" all-terrain vehicles successfully passed the tests. It is noted that members of the expedition had to overcome a section of swampy forest-tundra within three days. At night, they slept in all-terrain vehicles, and during the day they waded through medium and small rivers on the Kola Peninsula.

According to the specifications on the website, the "Arkhant" is capable of moving on water at a speed of 6 km/h and exiting the water onto ice under full load. The developers note that even with only two wheels, the all-terrain vehicle continues on its way. The all-terrain vehicle is designed for operation in the Arctic, so access to all units is possible directly from the cabin.

Earlier it was reported that Krasnoyarsk engineers developed a powerful all-terrain vehicle "Varyag" for the North, which can carry up to 14 people.
