Car manufacturers from September 16 to September 30, 2023, did not change prices for their models that are officially sold on the Russian market. This data is provided by experts at "Цена Авто."
Prior to this, a massive price increase was recorded in August, when price tags were rewritten for 15 brands at once. This price jump occurred for the first time since May 2022.
In August, the price increase was attributed to the introduction of a new recycling fee, as well as the weakening of the national currency. Similar factors influenced the pricing policy of car manufacturers in the period from September 1 to 15. In the first half of the month, 9 brands decided to raise prices for their models.
In Russia, according to a government decree, the recycling fee for passenger cars, buses, and trucks that enter the country for subsequent resale was increased on August 1. The fee applies to companies and individuals who import more than 1 vehicle per year into the country.
