American IT giant Microsoft will stop renewing licenses for Russian companies after September 30, Microsoft Online Services technical support reported earlier.
It is noted that Microsoft will not be able to accept payment for services in Russia to a local bank account. The corporation explained that the non-renewal of licenses for Russian clients is due to compliance with the sanctions regime against Russia. The corporation's activities in the Russian market have been suspended.
The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation commented on the information about Microsoft's refusal to renew the license. The ministry stressed that they are checking this data. At the same time, the head of the department, Maksut Shadaev, noted that Russia has alternative software. The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation understood "what everything is leading to" since the introduction of Western sanctions against the Russian Federation, he added. According to Shadaev, many companies are already switching to domestic Linux-based operating systems.
Information about Microsoft's refusal to renew licenses for Russian companies appeared back in August. www1.ru wrote about it.
