ERA-GLONASS Saves Lives: System Transmitted Over 50,000 Emergency Calls from Motorists to Rescue Services Since Beginning of Year

Since its launch, ERA-GLONASS has transmitted over 310,000 emergency calls to emergency services

Alexey Raikevich, Head of JSC GLONASS, shared statistics on the transmission of calls from motorists to emergency services using the ERA-GLONASS system.

Since the beginning of the year, ERA-GLONASS has transmitted over 50,000 emergency calls from motorists to rescue services, and over 310,000 messages since its launch. Statistics confirm that ERA-GLONASS helps save thousands of lives of people involved in accidents every year, reduce mortality, and improve road safety.

The Head of JSC GLONASS does not believe that the increase in the number of calls is directly related to the number of accidents on the roads: there are simply more cars on Russian roads.

There is no reason to talk about any trend towards an increase in accidents; rather, mathematically, the number of vehicles registered on the platform has increased. Accordingly, the number of registered accidents also increases with each subsequent year.
