Подводная лодка «Можайск» успешно завершила глубоководные испытания

The shipbuilding company JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" reported the completion of an important stage in testing systems and mechanisms before commissioning

The large diesel-electric submarine "Mozhaisk" of Project 636, which is under construction at the Admiralty Shipyards for the Russian Pacific Fleet, has successfully completed a deep-sea dive in the Baltic Sea as part of factory trials.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the dive, specialists from the delivery team of JSC "Admiralty Shipyards", together with the crew, checked the operation of all systems and mechanisms of the vessel, and worked out procedures for controlling the submarine at depth and in various surfacing modes. Then, factory sea trials will be continued in the surface position according to the plan.

After the "Mozhaisk" returns to the pier, the company will begin testing on the shore, including signing the necessary documents and completing factory sea certificates.

"Mozhaisk" became the fifth submarine in the series intended for the Pacific Fleet. It was launched on April 27 of this year. Currently, JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" continues to build the sixth submarine of this series - "Yakutsk". Both boats were laid down in parallel in August 2021.

Modified submarines of Project 636 have high combat effectiveness due to the optimal combination of acoustic stealth and target detection range. Modern navigation and control systems, as well as powerful weapons, ensure their leadership in their class in the world. "Admiralty Shipyards" is not only a leader in the construction of submarines of this class, but also provides warranty and after-sales service. The company is one of the oldest enterprises in the shipbuilding sector in Russia, founded in 1704 by decree of Peter I. Currently, JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" is part of JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation".
